Cleaning air conditioner coils
Air conditioners work most efficiently when coils are clean. An efficient air conditioner will save you energy and money. Build up of mould, dirt, and grime cause the system to work harder and will shorten the life span of the unit. The cooling system can efficiency can decrease by 16% when the evaporator and air conditioner coils are dirty.
Dirty coils reduce cooling capacity by 7% and increase power consumption by 10%. Mould spores, germs and bacteria, can accumulate on the coils, as well. Potentially, this can become a health hazard. When you spray the coils of you’re A/C unit with Mizu Foam, all of the mould, bacteria and germs will be effectively killed and safely removed. Clean coils improve the air circulation within your home and will replace unpleasant odours with a fresh minty scent.
Mizu foam is the easy way to ensure your coils are kept clean and continue to operate efficiently.
How to clean an air conditioner filter
Air conditioners work by pushing warm air along cold evaporator coils to remove heat from the air. The cool air is then pushed back into the room and warm air is pushed outside. A liquid, called refrigerant, is found in the evaporator coils. It transforms from a liquid to a gas as it absorbs the air’s heat. Before warm air reaches the evaporator coils however, it is pushed through air conditioner’s filters. When clean, filters help remove dirt and particles from the air, resulting cleaner, healthier air. When filter’s are unclean the cooling system is less productive. Running your air conditioner will be more costly and the air in your home/work will be dirtier.
It is easy to clean the air conditioner’s filter. Nearly all A/C filters are washable. Simply remove the filter and wash with warm water. Use a bit of dishwashing liquid and a soft brush as you scrub the filter in a sink or tub. When the filter has been thoroughly scrubbed and is dried, finish the process by vacuuming with a vacuum hose. Once done, snap carefully back into place.
Filter cleaning should occur monthly and ideally the filter should be replaced as often as every three months. Cleaning coils with Mizu foam and the timely replacement and cleaning of filters will ensure optimal energy efficiency and air quality in your home and/or office.
